Professor Song Cheng is the Deputy Dean of Weixian College,Tsinghua University, a Professor at School of Materials Science and Engineering, and Director of the Key Laboratory of Advanced Materials(Ministry of Education) He received his Doctor of Engineering degree from Tsinghua University in 2009, and has been teaching at School of Materials Science and Engineering since 2011. His primary research mainly focuses on functional materials for information technology. and he currently leads a project supported by the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. Professor Song is the recipient of two National Science and Technology Awards and winner of the inaugural Outstanding Young Mentor Award for Graduate Students. He also serves as Executive Council Member and Chair of the Youth Committee of the Chinese Materials Research Society, and as Council Member of the Chinese Vacuum Society and Chair of its Thin Film Committee.
