
Professor Ouyang Zheng received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Engineering from Department of Automation ,Tsinghua University. He then earned a Master of Science degree in Physical Chemistry from West Virginia University, USA, and a Doctoral Degree in Analytical Chemistry from Department of Chemistry, Purdue University. He previously served as a Professor in Department of Biomedical Engineering,Purdue University and was selected for China’s National Overseas High-level Talents Program.Professor Ouyang Zheng formerly served as Chair of the Department of Precision Instrument and Deputy Dean of School of Mechanical Engineering, Tsinghua University, as well as Vice Provost and Director of Academic Affairs Office,Tsinghua University, and Dean of Weixian College,Tsinghua University. He is currently Dean of Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School and Dean of Tsinghua-Berkeley Shenzhen Institute.
Professor Ouyang's research focuses on analytical instrumentation and biomedical applications. He founded PURSPEC to commercialize innovations in mass spectrometry. His honors include NSF Early Career Award,Coulter Foundation Early Career Award, American Society for Mass Spectrometry Research Award, and Curt Brunnee Award for Instrumentation Research from International Mass Spectrometry Society. He is currently a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE), Vice President of the China Society for Measurement and Testing, and Vice President of the Engineering Education Committee, China Association of Higher Education. He also serves as Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Mass Spectrometry and Associate Editor of Research (a Science Partner Journal published by China Association for Science and Technology).
